A tough game against the League leaders saw us run-out 5-2 losers. We lost two quick early goals but then Tony got one back for us by spliting the defence to shoot with the out side of the boot into roof of the net. It remained 1-2 for a while but was 1-3 by half time.
Regent got to 2-4 before Tony again scored. This goal was a bit of a scramble and he finished from 5 yards after Luke crossed it in.
Regent finished the scoring but we felt the scoreline was harsh considering the amount of play and chances we had. Still they had humped other teams by bigger scorelines....
Martin had a good game for us in the middle of the park and we saw Sheps return from injury with a cameo sub appearance. Matty Baker came on as a sub but had to go off 10 minutes later as he was injured by a heavy challenge from a Regent player.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
