U10 Blues 1
Bedwell lions

The Blues turned in another spirited performance on Saturday against a pacey and skilful Bedwell Lions side. With only five regular players in attendance due to holiday and illness, the team were boosted by great performances from Zak, Joe and Louis. The team started well in the first quarter, but playing up the hill and against the wind struggled to get the ball out of defence. However Sam and Zak at the back soaked up most of the Bedwell pressure and with Ryan, Luke and Jack all putting in great effort the opposition were restricted to a number of long range efforts. When they did get through Joshua was able to pull off a couple of fine saves in goal. The team almost held out to half time, but following a corner, Bedwell took the lead. The second quarter started more brightly with Joe and Louis causing havoc in the Bedwell defence. However, despite a number of changes the Blues could not get the ball into the goal, and they were punished with a well worked Bedwell goal from a good cross and headed finish.
The second game started in the same vain as the first, with the Blues predominantly defending. Again the all the boys worked really hard in keeping the opposition's chances to a minimum especially Luke, Ryan and Jack. When the Blues did attack they did so with speed and purpose and it was no surprise that following good work from Louis and cross from Joe, Zak was able to finish with a fine header into the top corner of the goal. The final quarter was almost one way traffic with the Blues unlucky not to increase their lead, especially Louis who led the attacking line expertly.
Well done to all the boys today, they did not stop running for the full 40 mins. Zak won Player of the Match for another tireless performance. WELL DONE BLUES!!!!!!
