THE START OF THE TEAM. (21/09/07)
I started the team in may 2001 when the players were U6`s. We trained at chells park in the Summer, and in the Winter we trained inside the chells park pavillion. The only origenal member of the team who is still with us is Alexander Gould. From a very small number of boys at the beginning we soon had enough players aged 6 & 7 to make 2 mini soccer teams (16 players). we started out with friendlies against other local teams but our first game was against a strong Bedwell Rangers team at Knebworth cricket ground on 16.10.01 where we lost the 1st game 0-5 and the 2nd game 0-2. We learned very quickly and as you can see by the list of trophies we have won, we went on to be a very successful team both in the Stevenage Mini Soccer League and in the Royston Crow Youth League.
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
