Another good performance by the Blues showing just how far they have come in nine games. Having to play with only seven players for the third game in a row and on a boggy pitch, the only differences between the two sides was some terrific finishing by the Colts team. The Blues started the first game brightly, as usual, and could have taken a deserved lead with chances by both Calum and Ryan. However, it was the Colts who took the lead with a low hard shot that beat Joshua at his near post. Undeterred the team continue to play well, with some great passing play through midfield with Ryan, Luke and Eden linking up well and supporting Calum up front. The defensive duo of Sam and Miles kept the Colt's attacking chances down to a minimum, but following a goal mouth scramble the Colts scored a second. Joshua's goal kicking improved greatly from previous games. The second half was much closer, with the Blues probably having the better chances, both Eden, Calum and Ryan going close, however they were unable to convert these into goals. The most encouraging aspect of the game, however, was the second game, where the Blues performance improved greatly. Despite losing a goal to the Colts early on, the Blues began to dominate and spent most of the time in the Colts half. The Blues were rewarded when Calum was fouled in the box, Luke stepped up to take the penalty which was saved by the Colts keeper, but Calum following up slotted home the rebound. The Blues started the fourth quarter where they left off and took the lead with a fine low finish by Calum following good Blue build-up work. Unfortunately the Blues could not keep up the work rate and despite a number of fine saves by Joshua and some last ditch defending by Sam and Miles the Colts were able to capitalise and score three time before the end of the game. Miles was awarded Player of the Match with another fine defensive performance. The team were, as usual, very well supported from the touchline, and it was great to hear people's comments about the great improvement in the performances, so well done to all the boys! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!!
